POCO X2 (Redmi K30) — Steps To ROOT & Install TWRP!

I have already created a video on this topic but some people prefer an article. So this article will explain to you the process to Install TWRP Recovery & Root The POCO X2 OR Redmi K30.

First of all, This process won’t wipe your data but just for safety purposes backup all the data before proceeding. Note: You need an unlocked bootloader to start the process. If you haven’t unlocked the bootloader of your smartphone yet then read Xiaomi Smartphones — Steps To Unlock Bootloader!

POCO X2 (Redmi K30) — Steps To ROOT & Install TWRP!

1) To start the process, you need to download ADB & Fastboot driver, TWRP image, Boot image, and Magisk Manager. You can use the below link to download all the files.

2) Go to the smartphone » Settings » About Phone » Tap 7 times on MIUI to enable the Developer Options.

3) Additional Settings » Developer Options » Enable OEM Unlocking & USB Debugging.

4) Press and hold the “Power + Volume Down” button to boot the smartphone into the fastboot mode.

5) Connect the smartphone to the PC.

6) Install ADB Setup If it’s not installed on your PC.

7) Copy “recovery.img” and paste it inside ADB & Fastboot folder.

8) Press shift on your keyboard & Right-Click anywhere inside the folder.

9) Click “Open Command Window Here“. You can also click “Open PowerShell Window Here”.

10) Type “fastboot devices” to see that the smartphone is connected to the PC or not. If you cannot see the smartphone in the list then open Device Manager and check that the driver is installed on your PC or not.

11) Type “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img” to flash the TWRP recovery. It will flash TWRP recovery in few seconds.

12) You can press the “Volume UP + Power” button or type “fastboot boot recovery.img” to boot the smartphone into the TWRP Recovery. When you will boot into the TWRP recovery for the first time, you will see some other language. Change the language to English, Watch the video if you cannot change the language.

13) Now, You have successfully installed TWRP Recovery in your smartphone but it’s not permanent. You need to flash “boot.img” file to make it permanent. Open Install » Click “Install Image” » Select “boot.img” file » Swipe To Confirm Flash. TWRP will install it in a few seconds then click “Reboot System“.

14) After booting up the smartphone, Go to File Manager » Install & Open Magisk APK. You will see the “Requires Additional Setup” message.

Enable your internet connection and click “OK“. It will take a few seconds then Magisk Manager will reboot your phone.

Done, You have successfully rooted your smartphone and installed TWRP on it.
